A year later I found a willing teacher by the name of Daniel Upton at Dandyland Tattoo. I apprenticed under him for a year and a half and continued to work at the shop for the next three years before moving to Austin, Texas where Daniel would eventually open another shop by the name of Golden Apple Studios. While In Austin I ran into an old friend, Cody, who I have known since I was fourteen. We were married four years later in December of 2005.
Cody and I moved between Texas and Portland Oregon and eventually Los Angeles California. We settled in L.A. long enough for me to gain a masters in Beauty Make-up Artistry, Character Make-up and Special Make-up Effects at the famous make-up school, M.U.D. (Make-up Designory). While there I made a trip to San Diego to visit my good friend Craig Driscoll and then Riverside to visit a new friend, Nathan Kostechko. I was so inspired by them it renewed my passion for tattooing. I soon grew tired of rambling and returned to Austin and the life of a tattoo artist at Southside Tattoo.
Since my return, I have given birth to our daughter Luna Saffron. I am amazed daily by her and enjoy being a mother immensely. I never knew it was possible to love someone so much.
I now work at Resurrection Tattoo on South Lamar in Austin Texas and it's the best shop I have ever worked at. I love the crew and the owners are rad, it feels like family. I am inspired by them every day I go to work. I love tattooing big bright-colored pieces but I 'm comfortable working in any style. Outside of work I enjoy painting, photography, drawing, sewing, web design and of course being a mother and wife. I've been a painter, sculptor and artist my whole life and feel that it's all led up to tattooing. All of my art is for the love of my life, Cody.
