What if I'm not a Vegan or Vegetarian?
The only difference between a "regular" tattoo and a "Vegan" tattoo is that there are no animal by-products used in the making of any of the supplies. All other aspects are the same as a "regular" tattoo. It lasts just as long (provided the client takes care of it properly)
What is Vegan tattoo ink?
Tattoo ink has two parts, pigment which is the color and a vehicle which is a liquid that carries the pigment. Most of the time the vehicle is made from glycerin. Glycerin is usually made from either animal fats or derived from vegetable sources. In most cases black inks and sometimes in color inks the pigment is made by burning down animal bones. In Vegan/Vegetarian tattooing there are NO animal by-products used.
What other aspects are Vegan?
Using Non-moisturizing strip razors
Using "Dr. Bronner's" soap instead of "Green Soap" which is the industry standard.
Using non-latex gloves
Using petroleum jelly as an alternative to A&D ointment.
What should I do for after care?
For Vegans i suggest using "Burt's Bees" unscented lotion and for everyone else I suggest un-scented/original "Lubriderm".
